Bonny Rock's new leadership will drive further growth of firm's State and Local Tax Practice.

Bonny Rock, has joined nationally recognized public accounting firm, MBAF, as a director in the Tax & Accounting department, and will be based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. The announcement was made by Tony Argiz, Chairman and CEO of MBAF.

With more than 20 years of professional accounting experience and extensive knowledge in state and local tax, property tax and tax outsourcing, Rock will lead the firm’s flourishing State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. She will join MBAF’s specialists in the SALT practice to help clients effectively manage their business whether it’s by assisting with cross-border tax planning or recovery of overpayments. The growing practice does not simply help clients stay in compliance, the team helps minimize tax liabilities and look for key financial opportunities in the process.

“MBAF has had great success identifying niche practice areas and recruiting top talent with strong backgrounds, like Bonny, for those departments,” said Argiz. “Bonny will be instrumental in helping to further advance our SALT practice. Her professional experience along with her collaborative work ethic makes her a true asset to our team.”

Rock is skilled in advising U.S. and international clients on applicable tax laws, rules, procedures and practices in multiple taxing jurisdictions. She has guided clients on a variety of multistate, property tax matters such as consulting, appeal negotiation, audit representation and property tax return preparation.

Prior to joining MBAF, Rock was a partner and national property tax leader at one of the nation’s top professional service companies. She was also a tax partner with a top accounting firm for more than 15 years where she led its property tax practice and served as an expert on sales use and property tax matters for a Fortune 500 company.

Active in the community, Rock is involved with several organizations including the National Cancer Association and Project Thanksgiving in Miami. She is also a member and speaker for the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, a speaker for the American Society of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of the Appraisal Institute.

Rock earned a B.A. in Marketing and Business management from Northwood University.
