MBAF’s Monte Kane, Principal-in-Charge of the Condominium and Homeowner Associations Division, will be a featured speaker at the FICPA 16th Annual CIRA Real Estate Conference. He will present on fraud and cybersecurity risks for condominium and homeowner associations.
The annual CIRA Real Estate Conference is two days of topics from speakers who interact regularly with condo associations, HOAs and timeshares. Speakers include regulators, attorneys, reserve specialists and CPAs specializing in this industry to provide a variety of resources and discussions. This year’s conference has been expanded with a one-day CIRA Real Estate Conference for CPAs facing clients with questions on rental tax issues, new revenue recognition rules, investments of real estate in IRAs, and asset planning concerns.
The conference, taking place November 15th-16th, will also provide detailed discussions and address audit procedures and disclosures; developer turnover issues; Florida-specific legislative updates; and risks arising from storms, updates to the Auditing and Accounting Standards; peer review issues; and tax law changes.
