Nationally recognized public accounting firm MBAF has promoted four professionals to the position of Director. The announcements were made by the firm’s Chairman and CEO, Tony Argiz.
Mark Kokonas, CPA, has been promoted to Director in the Tax and Accounting Department, and is based in MBAF’s Miami office. Kokonas has been in the public accounting profession since 2008. He has extensive compliance and consulting experience, providing services for corporations across various industries and specializes in closely held entities and high-net-worth individuals, with a focused expertise in the sports and entertainment industry. Kokonas earned both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting in Taxation from Florida State University.
Ursula Maravi, CPA, has been promoted to Director in the Tax and Accounting Department in MBAF’s Miami office. Maravi has a decade of experience in the public accounting profession with current responsibilities involving tax engagement planning, budgeting, review, and supervision of staff. Maravi has extensive compliance and consulting experience, providing services to various industries with an emphasis on closely held entities, high-net-worth individuals, international banks, and professional firms. She earned both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Hospitality Management from Florida International University and a Master of Taxation from Nova Southeastern University.
Benyomin Richmond, CPA, has been promoted to Director in the Tax and Accounting Department in MBAF’s Miami office. Richmond’s expertise includes tax planning and compliance in various areas of domestic and international taxation as well as a broad range of international expertise including offshore voluntary disclosures, U.S. real estate investments by non-residents, foreign trusts and estates, and pre-immigration and expatriation planning. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Touro College.
David Silver, CPA, TEP, has been promoted to Director in the Tax and Accounting Department in MBAF’s New York office. Practicing in the accounting profession since 2009, he has experience with transactional planning including due diligence, operational and structural analysis for high-net-worth individuals and organizations in various industries including automotive dealerships, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, technology, telecommunications, and wholesale/distribution. Silver has also been involved in trust and estate planning for U.S. beneficiaries of foreign trusts and foreign beneficiaries of U.S. trusts. He received both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University.
