Adam Spiegel joins Managing Principal, Ronald Finkelstein to oversee the firm’s operations in Broward County.

Adam Spiegel, CPA, has been named Managing Principal of the Fort Lauderdale office of nationally recognized accounting firm MBAF, effective immediately. The announcement was made by Tony Argiz, Chairman and CEO of MBAF.

As a Managing Principal, Spiegel will join Ronald Finkelstein, CPA*/ABV, Senior Managing Principal, to lead the strategic direction for the Fort Lauderdale office, while growing the firm’s presence in Broward County and recruiting talented professionals to continue to deliver increased value to clients. Spiegel and Finkelstein will also oversee all operations of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office located in the heart of the downtown financial district in The Plaza building on Las Olas Boulevard.

Spiegel will continue to serve in the Tax and Accounting Department at MBAF, where he focuses on accounting and tax planning for professional service providers, real estate developers, hotel operators, commercial and residential property owners, small businesses and high net worth individuals. Finkelstein is also in the Tax and Accounting Department and will remain principal-in-charge of the firm’s Healthcare Services Group.

Active in the community, Spiegel currently serves as a Board of Director for the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, a development committee member of HANDY, Helping Abused Neglected and Disavantaged Youth, and a Board Member for the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami. He is also members of the Tocqueville Society of the United Way of Broward, 2-1-1 Broward, Leadership Broward, and the Village Square of Broward College. He is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Orientation, sponsored by the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership Miami, sponsored by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Spiegel holds a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration from the University of Hartford in Connecticut and did his graduate studies in accounting information systems at Florida International University. He is a certified public accountant and member of the AICPA and the FICPA.  

Finkelstein has been in the public accounting profession since 1982. As principal-in-charge of the Healthcare group, his healthcare practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial transactions, fraud and abuse, managed care and healthcare regulatory matters. Finkelstein has counseled clients on: clinical integration; new delivery models, including ACOs; Medicare & Medicaid reimbursement; Stark-related matters; physician incentive arrangements and valuation of healthcare provider businesses.

Also a long time community supporter, Finkelstein is on the board of Broward Workshop, the Council of Economic Advisors, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Memorial Foundation. In addition, he serves as the audit committee chair for the Florida Community Health Network, and as a Tocqueville Society member for the United Way of Broward County.

Finkelstein holds a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He is a certified public accountant and member of the AICPA, the FICPA, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Medical Group Management Association, and the National CPA Health Care Advisers Association.
