MBAF's Frank Gonzalez has been featured in the UnitedWay Miami's donor stories.

As Frank Gonzalez looks out of his 18th floor corner office window overlooking Brickell Avenue and Biscayne Bay, he considers himself very fortunate. Born to Cuban parents and raised in Miami, today Frank wears two hats at Morrison, Brown, Argiz and Farra, one of the top 40 accounting firms in the country: managing principal and principal-in-charge of the audit department.

Frank’s involvement with United Way of Miami-Dade began more than 20 years ago as a member of Young Leaders when he worked at KPMG. He became more involved, serving on the family impact council where he was exposed to the struggle of many families in the community. This was life changing for Frank and it propelled him to take a more vital, meaningful role in the organization.

“Most people in the community don’t realize how many families are either in poverty or just one emergency away from falling into poverty,” Frank said.

He went on to serve on the United Way board, was treasurer on the executive committee and chaired the finance and administration committee. He just rotated off the board after serving two consecutive, three-year terms.

“I feel enormously fortunate and extremely grateful to come from an immigrant family to a position where I have the ability to help those in need,” Frank said.

In addition to his volunteering at United Way, Frank is an active community leader giving back to his alma mater, Florida International University, as well as serving on the boards of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Area Stage Company; and serves as treasurer at both the CINTAS Foundation and the Orange Bowl Committee.

As parents of two children and longtime United Way supporters, Frank and his wife Maria are well aware of the importance of securing the future needs of the community for coming generations. To ensure their participation in the community’s future, they decided to invest in a life insurance policy benefiting United Way of Miami-Dade and its work in education, financial stability and health.

“What better way to maximize our contribution in order to benefit the community?” Frank concludes.

And this is how Frank Gonzalez LIVES UNITED.
