Andrea is a principal at our affiliate FMA having extensive experience working with nonprofits, individuals, and foundations helping them make important strategic fiscal decisions. Her support enables organizations to improve the effectiveness of their giving and receiving of contributions through developing good fiscal management tools, establishing appropriate fiscal policies and procedures, and advising on strategic decisions.
Andrea works with a diverse group of clients across the nation and internationally. Most recently, she returned from an engagement in Haiti where she helped set-up the proper accounting infrastructure and controls for three large international foundations. In addition, Andrea has worked with Community Foundations to train their Program Directors on understanding how to read their grantees financial statements.
As a sought-after trainer and speaker, Andrea travels the country presenting on a variety of nonprofit financial management topics. She has presented at the City of Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services Annual Fiscal Conference. The Donors Forum of Chicago and Wisconsin requested her to present and work with their grantor organizations on financial management best practices. Foundation Source requested her to present to high net worth family foundations on Understanding Their Grantees Financial Statements. She was a requested panelist at the The Winning Clients is Everything Conference in Las Vegas speaking on accounting services in a virtual environment. She presented at the AICPA Annual Nonprofit Forum in San Francisco and their annual nonprofit conference in DC. She is a member of and a breakfast speaker for the Planned Giving Council of Broward County and recently presented at the JCC’s of North of America Professional Conference in Orlando, Florida. She is also a member of AFP FL (Association of Fundraising Professionals) and a primary member of the Fort Lauderdale/Broward Chapter.
Andrea holds the Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA®) awarded by The Institute of Internal Auditors to practitioners who have proven their knowledge and are able to provide guidance on risk, controls and business objectives. In addition, Andrea holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The CGMA demonstrates management accounting expertise, determination and commitment to achieving sustainable business success.
She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and The Institute of Internal Auditors, and served as an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of Continuing Education, where she trained Development Directors on nonprofit accounting issues. Andrea serves on the Board of the Ireland US Council and has recently became of a member of Social Venture Partners Miami where she serves on their Investment Committee.
Andrea has an MBA degree from Drexel University and graduated magna cum laude with a BBA from Temple University.
